Boeing still safe?

Recently, there has been a lot of talk about an issue in the software system of the Boeing 737. The allegations towards the company started coming in when two of the companies planes crashed within a five moth period causing multiple deaths. Of all the airlines, Southwest and American Airlines are the companies that use the 737 the most and it is showing in their sales. Since the accidents and the word going around about how the planes are unsafe, passenger have been switching to other airlines and is starting to negatively affect the sales of these two airlines. Recently, Boeing says a software update would have corrected the issues which caused the planes to crash, but personally I would not feel safe to fly long distance in the planes unless something more as done. Would Boeing cancel the 737 after these incidents and switch to another model? I do not think any more people would be wanting to take this plane for their travels

  1. This is an incredibly interesting topic. The degree to which Boeing and the FAA are interconnected is very suspicious. The United States is the only country that did not immediately discontinue the use of these planes. This brings up the United States' reactionary policy rather than a proactive policy.

  2. That is so scary! I feel like it reflects on the Boeing company as a whole- how could they miss a software issue that could cause something as devastating as a crash? It makes me feel like there are other things they could have overlooked in other planes that could also cause issues. Additionally, if the 737's issue wasn't software and was actually a different issue- the crashes could continue, and either way, it makes customers feel unsafe. I agree that they should discontinue this plane, even if only in order to make sales go back up.
