LA Riots
From watching the documentary of the case of Rodney King (1991), I would say that justice was not served. Justice had not been served because of the continuous killings that were done by cops and racist acts of people. Rodney King was just the start. In the documentary, we see another incident within the LA riots. Latasha Harlins killed by an Asian woman for no reason. Then we have the killing of Tamir Rice(2014), a policeman shooting and killing this 12-year-old boy. Mind you that this has a 20-year gap or so from Rodney King. This would prove how there is no justice being served. Also with having curfews for people that are out past 8 pm, is ridiculous. People being shot or cuffed for being out at a certain time, caused the people to have groups for protection (gangs) from the police. The fact gangs still exist goes to show that people don’t feel protected. When a police officers job is to serve and protect.
I agree I think that since the Rodney King case things have just gone worse with police brutality. Since then we've heard so many injustices. Some police instead of serving and protecting our community, they treat certain people like animals and in many cases they have taken away lives of people who did nothing wrong but by the color of our skin they judge and make assumptions of what they think were capable of doing. Because of what the police has done now most people don't view them as protecting or serving our community but instead some view them as a threat and we don't feel protected by them.
