Trump and Pride month

This month trump has been criticized and called out for not keeping up with his campaign promises regarding LGBTQ rights. In his campaign he was talking about how he was going to give more rights to LGBTQ people but since then has done nothing to help. Recently, President Donald Trump praised Franklin Graham, a right-wing evangelical minister with a strong anti-gay rights platform. This goes against the interests of the LGBTQ people as they hope that Trump will not act on his prejudices and make things worse for the LGBTQ people.

On May 31, Trump even offered two tweets praising "LGBT pride month" and stated that he stands "in solidarity with the many LGBTQ people who live in dozens of countries worldwide: who are punished or even killed." But there are a lot of smoke and mirrors to what Donald Trump says and who knows how he will act on the words he has written in a twitter tweet.

He has also praised Russian President Vladimir Putin's harsh anti-gay propaganda laws that ban  children of "sexual relationships," and have contributed to an uptick in violence against the LGBT community in Russia.

Trump has not proven he knows how he feels about LGBTQ and we can only learn how he feels based on his actions and so far they have not been looking good for Trump.

  1. I do not believe Donald Trump when he says he will be a candidate/president for the advancement of LGBT rights for people in America because he is a part of the Republican Party. As a Republican president/candidate, I believe he risks losing his chance at the 2020 elections if he praises the agenda of the LGBT groups. I believe it is sad about how much party politics plays a role in American politics.
