Crazy Abortion Meeting in the 1970's
This is a crazy and messed up thing that my mom was telling me about today:
In the 1970's the Republicans were loosing Southern voters to Democrats. So, all those white men got together and had a meeting to see how they could get their Southern voters back. What happened was the Republicans figured that they had to get the Southern churches more aligned with the Republican values. There is a photo out there somewhere of a bunch of republicans sitting around a table with a whiteboard that says "Take back the South," and under that in huge font is the word" abortion. Because, by rallying up anti-abortion, Republicans were able to attract religious, one policy voters.
So, ladies, you reproductive rights are not being put under question because the politicians truly believe that abortion is wrong. Those rights are being put under question because the South is starting to purple, and the Republican party needs to rally the churches. That's why Row v. Wade is under attack!
I'm pissed.
P.S. I got this information off of a really interesting podcast called "The Wilderness," everyone should look into it because it's a lot of really trippy stuff that they US government has done.
