Racism within the same race
For many years, people prefer a specific color than another. I have seen times within my own family, where one skin color is more favored. Why does this occur? That people within the same race, are racist to one another. Racism exists among your own race people are racist and look down on people that are darker skinned and are not as educated and also they look down on people with less money. In our own state even in our own town. Racism is so bad that families even stop talking to each other over that. My mothers aunt has many daughter and one of them being the darkest of them was relatively out cast. Her mother would treat her differently then her sisters and would be called ugly for having dark skin.
You brought up a very interesting point. Many people may think that racism only exists among other races but it's not just about race. In many cases it's based on the color of their skin. I have family who are more white and I also have family who are more dark skinned and I've noticed that if a new member of the family is born with a whiter skin tone with lighter eyes they seem to treat them differently compared to if someone was born with a darker skin town and darker eyes.
