Golden state killer-years later

In the 1970's to the 80s', the Golden State Killer was notorious for killing and raping multiple women. Now, the case has been brought to him facing the death penalty. Deangelo was convicted of raping and killing more that a dozen women at the time and for of the women said they would request him to face the death penally if convicted.  However, Deangleo was not caught until recent years when a DNA test from a crime scene matches his own blood. Although executions cannot be carried out due to the new law passed in California, it does not prevent the death penalty from being handed out. Because of his actions, do you think he should face the death penalty or prison instead?

  1. I think that serial killers should always be removed from society- whether that is done by the sentence of life without parole or if they are sentenced to death. I'm not really sure I agree with the death penalty because it seems like the easy way out for both the justice system (they don't have to deal with that person anymore, while they could be studying/interviewing them to help solve future crimes) and for the criminal, because their punishment ends once they are killed. Also, what is the point of the death penalty being given to Deangleo if he will never be put to death?
