WW3
When you think about World War 2, you think about all the tensions leading up to it between the different leaders and how many people were against Hitler. Now in 2019, we have a similar situation with Trump and Kim Jong Un. There have already been many meetings between the 2 leaders and it is said that tensions are steadily rising. The leaders of many different countries including Russia have made an agreement with Trump to keep all Land Based Nuclear Weapons out of Europe. However shortly after Trump announced his withdrawal and is causing tensions that it could cause another arms race. It is said that Trump wants no agreement at all but that would just lead to another World War quicker. When you combine all these things together it makes you think if there would be a third world war and who it would include.
I totally see how you would think this. But I think it is equally important to compare Trump and Kim Jong Un to the Cold War. It is a fight between communism and liberalism over nuclear weapons, that sounds very similar to the Cold War, right?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Katie. I think we have a tendency to base predictions on similar facts in the past, which is understandable. However, I think that there are many new factors to take into consideration in predicting a possible third war. Specifically, one must analyze how the United States' stronghold on diplomacy has changed. Some argue that we have lost our power and countries like Germany and Great Britain are leading in diplomacy. While other countries argue that Trump's "strongman" approach is augmenting our authority on the world stage.
