Why did the Nazis kill the children?
In the Holocaust, millions of Jewish children died as a result of the gassing. However, I feel that there should have been other options for the children in the concentration camps. Children are young with little experience in the world. Instead of killing them, I think it would have been a good idea for the Nazis to educate them and "convert" them from Jewish into Nazi children. Because their beliefs in being a Jew might not be strong, it would be very easy to change their mindset while they are still children. But as time goes on and they grow older as a Jew they would be following the Jewish traditions.
Overall, Since the children were so young and did not have as much experience of being a Jew compared to the adults, I think that the Nazi's should have tried to convert the children into Nazis. That way, they would not have the trauma of killing the children and at the same time add more people to their community.

ReplyDeleteDo you really think it "would have been a good idea for the Nazis to educate them and 'convert' them from Jewish into Nazi children"? Or just a better idea than murdering them? I am not exactly sure what you mean or what "good" means to you as you have used the term here, but I cannot fathom how it could be possible to even argue morally that anything the Nazis were responsible for during the Holocaust or that you feel they should have done in this instance resembles anything even remotely close to a "good idea." It is true that there was absolutely no justification for the Nazis' horrific murders of children, yet you have failed to acknowledge that there was also absolutely no justification for the Nazis' horrific murders of adults either. Children are often associated with innocence; nonetheless, the millions of adults who were murdered by the Nazis were innocent as well.
