Michael Cohen's Shwanky Jail
Michael Cohen, the former lawyer of Trump, was recently sentenced to three years in prison for paying people to keep quiet about Trump. While he says he is finally free from the agony of working for Trump, he is also free to spend the next three years at summer camp for lawyers.
Cohen is going to a FCI Otisville in Upstate New York. The minimum security prison is known for being the place to be for white collar criminals. People like Kenneth Ira Starr and Gordon Gekko have come out of the complex raving on the food and facilities.
In a recent interview, a former prisoner described the place as "college dorm living," just without the classes. Days are a constant walk from the dining hall (that serves food "as good as a really diner"), to the work out facilities, and then to the two libraries. The first library is your average, college style library. The other is a law library for all the lawyers at Otis.
Otis is one of many prisons pegged as "white collar prisons, " where high ranking businessmen and government workers go to take a quite detox. These prisons are a place where they can catch up on their sleep, and waste time while getting good at tennis.
It's good to know that justice is really getting served.

I think having these prisons is quite embarrasing to the American Justice system. I found it really funny how they were " raving on the food and facilities". However, what probably happened is Robert Mueller struck a deal with Cohen so that he could go to this "swanky" prison. Interestingly, yesterday, I was watching the news where a lawyer appeared on CNN, talking about Trump and Cohen. He basically said that if someone is sent to Jail for x amount of years for follwoing orders, their boss should be sent to jail for three times the amount. That means 3 years for Donald Trump. Lets see how this goes down.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great post and a bunch of new information to me because I thought all prisons were harsh and tough. Its unfortunate that some enjoy their time in prison because they have money to get them into the white collar prison. And I think trump is involved in some very sketchy business so I hope the truth comes out and for the whole administration to do the right thing.
